"We have in more ways then one," she said with a shrug, coming over to pull the girls hair back with her fingers so that they could all see her face. "What do you girls think?"
The attendant just backed away and left, content to let them yell expletives at eachother so that she could maintain hersanity. It certainly didn't help when the three other girls started tittering away in some weird language that deffinitely wasn't english; Mama watche dthe poor girl go sadly with a small frown.
All in all, dress number two was a bigger success then number one, but Gabrielw as still shuffling the Hawaiian back into the changing room and stripping her non the less; there wasa five dress minimum and, though she did not know it, the angel was paying for the winning dress. Just in case.

Asher sighed and started humming Barbie Girl again under her breath as she closed violet eyes. She was liable to start attempting to set things on fire by glaring at them. She blew out an irritable breath, tugging at the sleeves in an unconscious manner, a gesture that showed she didn't like the restrictiveness of the gown. If left to her own devices, she'd be picking at the seams.
Toying with the silver hoop in her lip, she opened her eyes, mostly under control for the time being. "You done before I cut the damned sleeves off?"

"Quit complaining or I'll give you something to complain about," she threatened, litterally just ripping the third dress off her when she realized sleeves were a bad idea. "Be glad you only have to do this once. Some women do it for months before they finally pick one." Though she saw little point in that, but then humans were indecisive by nature. Obviously this wasn't turning into the great fun she'd anticipated when she made the deal to sleep with Asher. Although that was partly due to the grumpy demon waiting at home with her children.

Asher sighed and rolled her eyes heavenward. "Then find a dress that actually suits my body type. I'm short and I have curves," she said, crossing her arms while she leaned against the wall of the dressing room.
"Your best bet would be a mermaid or a trumpet gown, form fitting that flares at the end, probably a lace up back rather than button or zipper, not a cathedral train either," she said, ticking off things on her fingers. The girl knew her facts and gave Gabriel a lazy look with an arched eyebrow.

Gabriel raised an eyebrow right back, clearly amused by the fact that the tiny girl knew all the different types and styles; it just went to show there was a little girl in all of us. "Let me find an attendant brave enough to help us," she told her before grabbing up the remaing monstrousities and heading out. Mama entered not two seconds later, taking a place right in front of the door.
"Just in case," she informed the blonde in sugary tones; they all knew Ash would make a break for it the second she got a chance. "Gabriel and the girls will be right back with more dresses."

"That's where I sent her because I look like a fat kid on halloween in those disasters," she said as she closed her eyes and leaned against the wall, crossing her arms over her chest. It didn't bother her that she was nearly naked and she'd be ready when Gabi came back with the dresses.
"I'm short and those are made for all girls with no curves."

"Those are sample dresses dear," she replied sagely. "They're not meant to look good on anyone as pretty as you. They fix up the dresses later according to size, bust, and hips; I've seen them do it."

"They were still ugly as anything," she said, not bothering to open her eyes and instead mentally going through every curse she knew, in every language she knew of every culture she knew. This is what usually occupied her thoughts, there were a lot of them and she could make do with her time and entertain herself.
"Considering neither Ian nor I wish to get married, this is all a huge waste of time and money," she said with a shrug.

Mama shrugged. "Your angel said she was picking up the tab. I believe her words were, 'You never know when she'll change her mind'," she said with a faint smile. It was clear as anything that she wanted Ian and Asher to get married, but had the good sense not to push it. His sisters on the other hand... "Thank you for doing this, by the way. Ian told me how much you hate the idea of marriage."

Asher shrugged, toying with the silver hoop in her lip as she opened violet eyes. "Has he discussed how much he doesn't like it either?" she asked. "And I highly doubt I can commit to a monogamous relationship, Ian knows it, I know it, as long as there is an understanding then it will work."
She ran a hand through blonde and black hair as she waited for Gabi to get back with the goddamned dresses. If the arch angel took much longer, she'd go out and pick out her own damned dress. And the most expensive one she could find at that.

Mama could almost see the cogs turning in her mind. "Not much. I think his biggest fear is being left at the altar should the relationship get that far," she explained with a sad smile. "I know you've been through alot as far as relationships go too, but Ian has never really been able to find a healthy one to keep him happy either. I think you're the first, and he's terrified of screwing this one up. He seems to think all his failed relationships were caused by one thing or another."
Then there was the fact that his father, and even his mother, had told him repeatedly as a child that he would never find love, and that if he got close, she would leave him as soon as someone better came along. Mama had done her best to reassure him, but the damage had been done and hid last few girlfriends and boyfriends had been purely self-destructive.

"Don't we put the fun in dysfunctional," was all she muttered with a roll of her eyes. Ian was turning out to be worse than she was with his insecurities. "But neither of us want to get married, despite Nicholae. He'll end up with a dual citizenship either way," she said with a shrug, thinking of her and Ian's son.
It was a change for the Hawaiian to have Ian living with her for periods of time and having a baby to take care of as well. She was glad that her jobs had given her a lot of money and saved up for them and that Ian was able to and willing to stay with them. She'd have gone psychotic by now.
"I don't think I've ever had a relationship in general," she mused with a shrug. "The most normal one I'd seen was Remy and Belladonna, but that lasted for a short while," she said, pausing in silence for a moment at the memory of Bella. "And then he married Summer and they had a baby."

Gabriel rentered with an armfull of dresses just as Mama was about to say something more. "These will be the last ones," she told her tiredly with a nod to Mama. The attendant had been more then happy to help, but after she realized that Gabriel wasn't the one to be terrified of, she become some kind of insipid bubble head and just wouldn't. Shut. Up. She'd had to menace her into fearing her as well just to get away. "This place is bullocks anyways, so I hope you'll be more excited about trying these on so we can leave."

Asher snickered and rolled her eyes, looking at the fabric with apprehensive violet eyes. "I feel like I should be searching for the Russian circus," she muttered before grabbing one of the dresses from Gabi. The tiny Hawaiian slid the dress over her head, actually liking this fabric before her head popped out. The dress was a simple one, unlike the princess ones Gabi had picked out, Asher much preferred this one. Really, how was one supposed to survive in a mess of fluff? Asher shook her head in amusement at the thought, dismissing it as the dress settled on her, clinging in the right places and looking exactly like it was made for her.

A gasp could be heard as Mama took in the way it framed the Hawaiian while Gabriel merely looked pleased-it was perfect! "It seems that you ought to have been born a Roman queen," was her nonchalant comment, coming over to pull down and straighten some of the fabric that had bunched in odd places. "I wonder what He was thinking when He stuck you and Ian in this time."
Mama shook her head, coming over to assist the angel before herding the young woman out. There was a collective gasp from the girls awaiting the newest addition to the growing pile, and even the assistant was surprised. Abelie looked as if she might cry. "I feel like you're one of us even more now," she said. "You may as well have played dress-up with us for as beautiful you look."
Bettina nodded, hugging her older sister as they took Asher in. "You put all the other girls in here to shame."
