Matt wasn't one to complain when something went wrong...usually. But Today was different. When everything went wrong this morning before getting to work, and then when his boss called him into his office. Everything sort of failed.
"I don't care if you ran over 100 dogs on your way to work this morning. What I care about is the fact that your late for the third time in a row this week." His boss yelled at him. Matt was only half paying attention. The dog this morning pushed him into nowhere land.
"This was the straw. I warned you yesterday, you're late again and you're out." Matt looked at his watch absentmindedly. "Am I boring you Mr.Owens?" His boss asked. Matt came back to reality with a snap. "I'm sorry Sir, It won't happen again."
"What happened to you Matt?" he asked in a quiet voice. "You used to be on of my best workers, always bringing in more sales, but that changed when you left Anna. She was a nice girl."
"Matt, I don't want to fire you. You're a good worker." Matt looked up at his his boss. "But if this keeps up I won't be able to keep you any longer." Matt immediately felt bad. "Yes Sir."
Matt stood up from his chair and shook his bosses hand. "Be on time tomorrow?" He asked. Matt smiled. "Yes Sir." Matt got to the door and looked back at his boss. The aura around him was turning from Black to Navy Blue. A navy blue light radiates from the center of his chest. Matt had seen this before, but still he averted his eyes. "Sir, I'm still a little queasy from this morning, may I leave early?" He asked. The aura around him turns to a darker blue for a moment, but then it faultered and turned back. "Yes Matt, have your day off early, but I expect you here on time tomorrow." "Thank you Sir." Matt says and leaves the office. As he gets into the elevator he realises. He'll never be back here again.
After driving for a long time, trying to figure out what he's going to do with his life, Matt decides it may be time to get some help from a doctor for seeing these lights coming out of people. I must eb brain damaged, I know I've been seeing these all my life. So it must have happened when I was young. Did I fall? Think Matt! THINK! He almost didn't see the person in front of his car. "SHIT!" He yelled and stomped on the brake pedal. Tires screeching filled the air around him. Not Again he thought and looked over his steering wheel. The person standing in front fo the car had a deer in the headlights sort of look on their face, which wasn't surprising. The street was deserted except for him and the person ahead. I should check to see if they're okay He opened his car door and stepped out. "Are you okay?" He asked, checking their aura in the process.
