“What do you want from me, Gabriel?” Lucifer asked, stepping over to Gabriel, his eyes ablaze once more. “If you want me to be how I was, fine, I will. I’ll be Satan for you. I will play the part. I’ll go out and rape, pillage, and murder once more. I’ll treat you how I treat every other angel. No love and no fucking care.”
The devil turned away from the angel quickly before he lashed out. He could feel his temper far out of reach of being calmed down.

She rested her face in her palm, trying desperately to calm raging emotions that had long been dead to her. "I don't want that," she admitted in a voice above a whisper. "Because I've wanted nothing more then for you to be good again. But there's a difference between wanting it and it actually happening. I haven't changed in several thousand years, but you are and I'm being left behind yet again."

“Then, what the fuck do you want from me, Gabriel?” Lucifer cried out. “Nothing will please you. When I feel like I am doing what you want, you get upset with me. I am so confused, and it angers me.”
The devil paced for a moment before letting out a slow breath. “I do not want you to change, Gabriel. I want you to be the same. It seems like I have changed you, though.”

"Sex will do that to a person," she replied with a dark smile, crossing her arms over her chest once more and letting her gaze fall away from his face. "We would have been fine if you'd left well enough alone, you know. I wouldn't have had to worry about you ending the world and playing the final trumphet on my children. But you've become kinder, and for that I am glad-even if it means we keep hurting eachother like this."
She meant it. Gabriel had been trying for thousands of years to try and soften his gaze, but it only took the two miracles that were their children to do it. Lucifer loved her, yes, but she wasn't sure if he really meant it or if it was because she had given him his Anti-Christ plus one other child. After all, other women had given him children and he hadn't proclaimed his undying love for them.

Lucifer let out a sigh, looking down at the floor. “Where are our children, Gabriel?” the demon asked the angel. “I want to find some peace and seeing them would bring that. It seems that they truly are the only people who can calm me down. I should be happy at the moment with how the world is now, but I seem to be unable to find any sort of happiness.”
The world was in disarray, yet, the devil had a hard time finding his grin. What was happening between him and Gabriel was troubling him, and that seemed to dampen every emotion.

The look she gave him was suddenly defiant and she lifted her chin to stare down her nose at him. There wasn't much difference between them in height, but still she had to look up at him because of the scant few inches he had on her. Even so, the way she looked at him almost made up for it. "Yes, go to them. You can deal with them, but you've never been able to deal with me," she sneered, only the tiniest bit of bitterness entering her voice. "You'd be glad if I were gone and you know it. Because if I were, you wouldn't be hurting as bad as you have been."

Gabriel sneered at him, and it was something that Lucifer could not handle at the moment. He had just decided to end this little dispute with the angel by going to see their children, yet she still continued to egg him on. Her words truly had sent him to the edge.
The devil’s eyes flashed red as he looked back to the arch-angel. With a quick step forward and a quick movement, his hand reached out and grabbed Gabriel’s throat in a rough and violent jerk. He pulled her close to him, his eyes a blaze of fire as they looked down upon her face.
“If you were gone, I would not have any weaknesses. You are my weakness, my dear Gabi. Perhaps, I should just choke you to death right here and now,” he said, his words struck with a bite and venom that could have torn anyone apart. “Perhaps that goddamn ice queen should watch her fucking mouth.”

It was like fire and ice were clashing for dominence with no end in sight, for when he grabbed her by the throat, she grabbed him by the wrist with a touch so cold it would have frozen the limb off if she'd truly wanted to. Her eyes blazed with frozen fire and defiance, daring him to do what she knew he dearly wanted to at that exact moment. "Go ahead," she hissed through restricted airways, her voice coming out in a poisonous whisper. "Get rid of me and whatever 'weakness' I represent-at least with me gone the world won't end and my son won't become a murderer." She indicated the small golden horn-the last to be blown to herald in the End-hitched to her belt that had otherwise been unnoticed until now. "Face it, I'm the monster right now, but you've been one far longer then I have. I'm just better at it because I have no heart. Even if you could kill me, you would regret it for the rest of Eternity."

“To kill you would serve as a mercy to you,” Lucifer growled, glaring down with an intensity capable of starting a fire. His hand around her throat only tightened with the cold sensation that wrapped around his wrist. The true devil in him wanted to shake Gabriel and choke her until her neck snapped in two, yet killing her would end up being a mistake.
“A true punishment for you would be to watch our son murder countless humans,” Satan growled. “And I will make sure that he kills in front of you. I will make sure you watch his transformation, my dear Gabi.”
Lucifer violently pushed the arch-angel away from him. It seemed like the black gears of his dark and twisted mind were turning as his fire red eyes glared at Gabriel. A smile curled his lips as he seemed to come to a decision.
“I will take them from you, my sweet Gabi,” came the devil’s voice, soft and menacing just above a tortured whisper. Lucifer disappeared then, going off to the human world to find his children.

"No, don't!" she cried hoarsely when crumpling to the floor after being thrown. Heart in pounding in her throat, Gabriel came to her feet at a half run and crossed herself, disappearing in a flash of light and feathers just before hitting the wall ahead. Even after thousands of years of using this method of teleportation, it still made her stomach lurch, and while it was indeed chruning while being thrown through a dimension and several thousand miles around the world, it wasn't what was making her feel ill. She had gone too far this while egging Lucifer on and now she was paying for it-in the worst way!
She appeared in her living room just as the mortal babysitter let out a piercing screetch, falling over the worn coffee table maybe seconds after the demon had appeared before her followed shortly by her employer. The angel's face waspale with fear as she stared at Lucifer's back, and after glancing at the now excited twins who were apparetnly very happy to see their father, narrowed her gaze on it. "Don't touch them while you're like this," she begged softly. "If not for me, then for them. Beat me and hurt me any way you like, but don't you dare drag them into this."
It would be better to have him stab her with a hidden dagger then for him to corrupt Abel (and even Sophie if he could be bothered with her) and she rather preferred it. Hell, she'd prefer his betrayal before the Fall compared to this. Gabriel reached out to clasp his sleeve in her hand at the same time the babysitter whimpered in fear.

Lucifer had already made his way over to the twins. He cared nothing for the arch-angel’s words. The devil knew how to handle the toddlers. He would not hurt them even in his worst mood. He loved them so dearly that even when he was in a rage, he would not dare to send his anger upon them.
“Did you miss, Daddy?” the devil said to Abel and Sophie as he picked both of them up, holding one in each of his arms. He gave Sophie a kiss on the cheek and then Abel. “I will do as a please, Gabriel,” he said, his voice soft and almost gentle.
Satan’s eyes moved back down to the twins. “Want to come with daddy for a while?”

"Lucifer don't," she pleaded while the teenage girl decided enough was enough and made a run for the door. She was gone in seconds, leaving the 'happy family' with each other. "Don't do this to them."
Abel clapped his hands happily, reaching up touch his fathers face with his tiny fingers while his sister looked between him and her mother curiously over his shoulder. While her brother seemed oblivious to the increase in tension between their parents, Sophie could at least sense that something was terribly wrong.
"No," she said confidently, quite sure that she had used one of her few and favorite words correctly and glanced at Gabriel meaningly. "Ma!" she said, reaching for her.
Abel looked at her curiously before smiling brightly up at his father. "Da!" he nodded.

“Don’t do what to them, Gabriel?” Lucifer asked, eyes flashing over to the angel. “When have I ever hurt them? When have I ever done anything wrong to them? Never. I love both of my children. I love Sophie, and I love Abel. I have never tried to hurt them, nor will I ever. I have been trying to be the best father I could be to them, but that will never be good enough in your eyes.”
The devil turned his attention back to the toddlers in his arms. He sent a smile to his son who had reached up and taken Lucifer’s hair into his tiny hands and had started to pull. Despite his anger, Lucifer seemed quite calm and reserved now that he held his children within his arms.

"You're a wonderful father," she admitted, the heat of her gaze making her flinch. "To them at least. But what of your other children? I never did learn what happened to your failed attempts to create your Anti-Christ. The whole reason I'm wary to trust you with them is because you only used me as a means to an end in the beginning. You'd have left if I'd only given birth to Sophie and you know it."
Gabriel wanted to reach out to Sophie who seemed rather alarmed that her mother wasn't coming to take her from her father while Abel was content to play with the demon's hair. The little toddler could sense the electricity in the air and was just waiting for it to blow up around them. "Ma!" she repeated, still reaching out for her mother over Lucifer's shoulder. "Ma!"
The look look the angel gave her daughter told her just how distressed she was over the whole situation. The two had fought-badly-that much was clear.

Lucifer glared at Gabriel, fire raising in his eyes. “Do you know the difference between you and all of the other women that I have made pregnant?” he asked her, his voice low and full of venom. “I love you, Gabriel. I never loved any of the others. Never. And I wanted to be with you. I didn’t want to just knock you up and leave you. I love you, and I love both of my children. Why can’t anyone understand that? It’s not just Abel. I love Sophie just as much.”
The devil kept his hold on the twins gentle despite the anger within him. The arch-angel was only continuing to make Satan irritated. No one understood him it seemed. No one understood what Lucifer really wanted.
“I was wrong about you, Gabriel. I thought you knew me, but you don’t.”
