Hang on baby, mama's coming. Her eyes said to Sophie before meeting Lucifer's gaze. "You didn't at first. I was just going to be another notch in your belt and a way to distract you from your boredom. Even if that were still true, I probably wouldn't have cared because the part of me that still loves you so foolishly wanted to jump at any chance just to have you even for a moment," she snapped, blue eyes glowing in the dim light of the room. She had never told this to anybody, most notable him, and would have rather carried the secret for eternity. "You seduced me, but I wanted to be seduced. And as much as my mind is telling me to keep you at a distance, my absent heart keeps making me let you stay. So yeah, I don't inderstand you, but it's also because I don't understand myself."

“Stop putting your own words into my actions,” Lucifer snapped now, his temper flaring once more. “Stop making your damn assumptions. I may be the King of Lies, but I am telling you the truth which once again you do not appreciate. I tell you I love you, yet you deny that I have always. In the past I have pushed you away, because you are my weakness and for years I have completely despise that fact. When I have come to terms with my feelings, that is when you stab me.”
The devil glared at her, holding his children close to him. “You weren’t just another fucking notch in my belt. No, you never were. You were the one who I secretly desired, and when you became pregnant I was grateful. I wanted whatever child you would give me.”

"Then what we have here is a failure to communicate," she told him helplessly, shoulders going limp as she locked gazes with the floor. She didn't want to keep going, but she had already expressed so much now that she may as well finish what she'd started. The truth would set her free, so to speak. "I...know that I keep saying that my heart is dead and that I can't love, but it's obvious to the both of us how much I love our children," she put extra emphasis on 'our' to show that she was being serious, "So it's not completely true. I love life, every single living thing on this earth and in heaven, and I even weep for the death of a demon when it is needlessly extinguished. I love our children more then anything else when I'm meant to love all living things equally, and I love this strange life we've been living since they were born."
Gabriel lifted her gaze to look at him once again, holding her arms out as if to let him strike any blow he wanted, no atter how low. Sophie stared at her mother in awe, silently wondering just what had happened to start all this while Abel finally took notice of his mother and reached for her. "I apparently love alot of things now, and this has always extended to you no matter how much I say otherwise," she said finally. "So please don't take them from me like this."

“You disgust me,” Lucifer spat at Gabriel, her words truly meaning nothing to him. “You will say whatever you can possibly say in a time of need. Once the fear of something is going to be taken away from you, that is when you start spilling your guts all upon the floor. I have been truthful with you and faithful to you this whole time, but now is the time for you start being truthful and whatever the fuck else you want to call it.”
The devil glared at her, words seeming to get lost from him in his rage. “I did have the want of being your husband, Gabriel, but that want is no more. I hate you for what you have done. I hate you for breaking the trust that I could put into you. They do not deserve a mother who is going to specifically go out of her way to trample over their father’s heart.”

His words cleaved into the deepest part of her heart that was still left to feel, but they were right. She had always kept the truth to herself unless the situation was dire, but she'd lived like this for thousands of years; to change now would be the hardest thing she had ever done and it would take time. Except now Lucifer wasn't willing to wait for it to happen and was going to take the children away without so much as a backwards glance. He truly thought her a horrible mother and now was out to hurt her.
"I'm not a bad mother," she murmured brokenly, arms crossing about her middle as to keep her from breaking in two. "I'm not. So please don't take them from me-I don't think I could continue living if you did."

“You don’t deserve them, Gabriel. I don’t think you have ever truly deserved them. It is obvious that not all of your time goes to them, especially since you have had the chance to simply go out and fuck Asher. Glad that in my absence that babysitters are here to raise the children.”
Lucifer continued to send daggers toward the arch-angel. He had been trying to be the best father he could be to them. Granted, it was difficult not being able to stay upon Earth for a long period of time, but the devil had been trying so hard to be the best he could be for his children.
“Would you want to come with daddy?” Lucifer said to Abel, turning his attention back to the children. His voice had become playful once more, causing the boy to laugh and clap his hands. “How about you, Sophie? We all can go off and get some ice cream and go play.” The devil kissed his daughter’s cheek affectionately.

Sophie gazed up at him apprehensively, her little face almost identical to her mother's had she been a toddler herself. "No," she said again, shaking a head full of curls at him. All the ice cream in the world would distract the unusually adept child from what was at hand and she wanted nothing more then to return to her mother's arms; daddy was being scary.
Her brother, however, seemed to jump at the opportunity and nodded vigorously, tugging on his father's long hair to make him hurry up. "Da!" he nodded, pointing towards the door. "Go!"
Gabriel listened in abstarct horror. "I take them with me everywhere! They love Asher and think of her and Damian as aunt and uncle! The only time I leave them with anyone is when I have duties to attend to or when I go down to visit you!" she cried. Enough was enough and she made her way over to them quietly, still clutching her middle as if she would break, but begging that he give them back to her with her eyes. "The deal I made with Asher was a mistake, i know, but other then that have you ever seen me do anything to harm them? Ever?"

“It is one thing to physically harm them, Gabriel. It’s another thing to harm them psychologically. Now, you have forever harmed them, because of that little deal you made with a human. I hope it was well worth it, Gabriel. I hope sex with that human was worth taking advantage of my love and trust.”
Lucifer stepped away from the arch-angel as she moved over to them. He did not want her to take the twins from him. He wanted to keep them close to him and away from her.

Her expression darkened ever so slightly, but the desperation remained. The fact that he was still throwing that in her face showed just how much of a jack ass he was anyways. "We weren't officially together anyways," she told him icily, eyes never leaving his. "I promised we would try for a year, and I have been trying. But you're condemning me for one mistake when you've got thousands of transgressions against me and all I've done is sit there quietly and watch you do them. I'm not a bad mother, Lucifer! I take care of them, love them, feed them and bath them. My having sex with another woman has nothing to do with them, so unless they come to me someday and ask, I see no reason why you're worried about them knowing!"
Gabriel reached for Sophie, entirely to sick with the situation to let it go on. All she wanted was to hold her daughter and her son, but the latter was too far away with how the demon was standing. Sophie reached for her, mouthing a word she had yet to learn.

Fire shot up in front of Lucifer, blocking Gabriel from him and the twins with ease. The devil’s eyes danced with the flames of the fire that was slowly starting to consume the floor and the furniture. He glared at the arch-angel through the flames, not caring about the destruction that was soon taking over the room. His ears were deaf to the now crying toddlers who struggled in his arms, but he kept them there with firm, gentle holds.
“I am a selfish devil. A stubborn devil,” Lucifer growled to Gabriel, his voice low and deep. “I do not give many chances, my sweet Gabi. I give one. If anyone should know that, it is you. I gave God one chance, and He failed. A gave you one chance and you took advantage of that.”

The smell of burning flesh filled the room at the same time the Archangel let out a pained yelp. She ignored the flames licking at the eternally silent piano in the corner and the priceless Romanov eggs she had saved during World War I, because their worth paled in comparison to what was being taken from her now. "Please!" she cried over the crackling. "Don't do this! Hurt me any way you like, but don't take them from me!"
Using her powers at this point would be useless; with so little moisture in the air, she could barely bring the temperature down to keep from fainting from heat stroke. Hell, she didn't even care about the third degree burns on her hand if it meant getting her children back. She would brave death itself just to make sure they were safe.
And Gabriel was doing just that as she struggled to walk through the flames, ignoring the burning of her immortal body. "Give them back!"

The fires flickered, and with a flash Lucifer sent the arch-angel back with a push of energy. His eyes flashed red as he glared at Gabriel. He had tired of this little game, and he was done with this.
“What makes you more deserving?” the devil spat. “I think it is time for them to spend a spell with me. You can stay up here and think about all that has happened, Gabriel. The twins can spend time with me.”

Gabriel hit the wall with a sickening sound, crumpling to the floor. While the collision would have killed a normal human (or at the very least paralyzed them and left them unconscious), the angel looked up at Lucifer with glazed eyes full of sorrow. Her hair was frizzed and turning black from the fire while the skin along her arms were bubbling and an angry red-the same red as his eyes. "Please...don't..." she tried again, voice barely above a whisper as the flames continued to consume the area around her. If she didn't move soon, they would have more then just wood to burn.

"I will do as I please," Lucifer responded as he watched the arch-angel. "Your begging is useless to me, my sweet Gabi. Whine and whimper as much as you please, but it is worth nothing. You have done enough against me, so if you wish to consider this pay back, you may. However, our children will not be hurt by spending time with their dear father."
Another burst of heat hit the room, and the flames shot up higher. The devil's glare never lost its intensity. The angel had evoked a rage that had felt silent within the demon. It was a rage that could only be compared to the rage Lucifer felt when he was thrown from the heavens.
"We will leave now," Satan said, his voice a hiss as he turned away from the angel.
